Carol Holub: RWI, (RehabWest, Inc.), was founded in 1977 by Carol Holub. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. After a short tenure in teaching and educational counseling, Carol was drawn to the vocational rehabilitation system because of her passion in assisting people toward a productive life.
RWI has always been a leader in emphasizing the job development phase in the rehabilitation process, insisting on the hiring of job developers (working with counselors) to actually return injured workers to gainful employment. Under Carol's leadership, RWI moved into managed care with the opening of a medical management division.
Sharon Douglas: With a focus on California Workers’ Compensation, Ms. Douglas has held numerous claim management positions in the insurance industry over the past 25 years. She is certified by the Department of Industrial Relations, Self-Insurance Plans, as a Workers’ Compensation Administrator. Sharon has earned a reputation for being one of the leading “trainers” in the industry as she conducts regular session for the clients of RWI and the industry at large, including RIMS, PARMA, PASMA, CJPIA, Council on Education in Management and the Association of Insurance Professionals.
Sharon was instrumental in developing the Insurance Educational Associations’ (IEA)
Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) curriculum and certification program coordinated
with San Diego State University, and taught all 3 courses for the IEA. She is co-author of the book,
“Building a Modified Duty Return-to-Work Program”.
